 Introduction
There
won’t be such a success of general Hsinchu hospital
without the enthusiasm and dedication from all crew of
department of obstetrics and gynecology. It has been
appreciated by the popularity in Hsinchu city and county
that we do make a big progress in recent 6 years which is
certainly comparable to other medical centers in Taiwan.
The medical service we provide can be classified and
characterized as follows:
1.
Obstetrics:
Besides general
practice, we are well-trained and experienced in high-risk
pregnancy and cooperate with anesthesiologist, pediatrician
and blood bank as a strong team. Couples are always welcome
to consult us about genetic or eugenic consideration.
Through the advanced techniques we perform like
4-dimentional ultrasound, high-resolution ultrasound,
Doppler blood flow study of fetus, amniocentesis and
chromosome study, we devote ourselves to the welfare of
every pregnant woman and treasure every coming new life as
an invaluable gift from God.
2.
Gynecology:
There won’t be
anything more contributive than the progress in oncologic
field in recent years. We play a leading role among all
district hospitals in Taiwan and provide both operation and
chemotherapy for those suffering from gynecologic cancer.
There is also a team which enroll radiation oncologist and
medical oncologist, so radiation therapy and hospice care
can be arranged for appropriate patients in our department.
The characteristics which make our general gynecology
quite different from other hospitals’ is that we respect
each female organ and try our best to preserve and restore
its function. We also believe all female friends who seek
help in our clinics deserve the best choice, so surgical
intervention is only considered while the disease if
refractory to medical treatment or there is an immediate
strong indication. With the contribution from advanced
endoscopic techniques, patients here no longer receive an
operation with ugly scar and sanguinary resection but
delicate procedures with cosmetic scar, fertility-preserving
enucleation and organ reconstruction.
3.
Infertility
“Isaac made prayer to the Lord for his wife because
she had no children; and the Lord gave ear to his prayer,
and Rebekah became with child.” From Genesis chapter
25.
