In
Hsin-Chu General Hospital, there are fully developed
sub-specialties in the Department of Internal Medicine.
The sub-specialties include cardiology, chest medicine,
gastroenterology, nephrology, endocrinology and
metabolism, hematology and oncology, and rheumatology. We
have 22 qualified attending physicians in the Department
of Internal Medicine, and Hsin-Chu General Hospital is a
qualified training hospital of Doctors of Internal
Medicine.
We have complete equipment for examination and treatment,
including CT, MRI, nuclear medicine examination, cardiac
catheterization, various endoscopy, various sonography,
treadmill test, peripheral vessel examination, pulmonary
function tests, hemodialysis, continuous ambulatory
peritoneal dialysis, and linear accelerator for
radiotherapy.
We have the ability of medical intensive care, and have
developed a high-standard intensive care unit, coronary care
unit, and respiratory care center. We can perform many
intensive procedures, including percutaneous coronary
angioplasty, coronary stent, esophageal stent, biliary stent,
bronchial stent, and procedures of endoscopic stop-bleeding
etc
Department of chest medicine in HsinChu Hospital (Introduction):
1.
Members: 3 chest medicine specialists (visiting staffs) and 4 respiratory therapists, residents , 4 clinician assistants and 4 clinical technicians.
2. Facilities: medical intensive units(MICU), respiratory care center(RCC), negative pressure isolation rooms, respiratory wards, ultrasonographic room, negative pressure bronchoscopic examination room, pulmonary function test laboratory.
3. Equipments: microprocessor ventilator, Bi-PAP ventilator, CPAP ventilator, transport ventilator, fiberoptic bronchoscope, ultrasound machine, body plethysmography (box) pulmonary function test machine.
4. Services:
a) Pulmonary function test, including simple spirometry test, lung volumes test, DLCO, bronchodilation test, bronchial provocation test.
b)Chest sonographic examination with echo-guided needle aspiration, drainage and biopsy for pleural and lung diseases.
c) Bronchoscopic study with bronchial washing, lavage, brushing, biopsy, foreign body removal, bronchial stent implantation.
d) Respiratory care for patients with respiratory failure in ICU and RCC.
e) Respiratory training and weaning for patients with long-term ventilator support in RCC.
f) Treatment for various pulmonary diseases, such as TB, bronchial asthma, COPD, pneumonia, lung cancer, interstitial lung diseases, pneumothorax, respiratory failure, etc.
g) Patient educations: quitting smoking, asthma care, TB care, COPD care with oxygen therapy, tracheostomy and artificial airway care, inhalation techniques for MDI and nebulizer.
h) Teaching and research for pulmonary diseases.
Department of
Hematology and Oncology medicine in HsinChu Hospital (Introduction):
Our
7C oncology ward is different from the other hospital. We
did not separate the cancer patients into acute care and
hospice care. On the contrary, we provided continuous and
total care for patient from early stage to terminal stage.
With the support of other subspecialist, we gave cancer
patient surgical treatment, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or
hospice care according to each patient’s tumor staging,
performance status, and individual request.
In our ward, we emphasized the cancer truth telling.
After cancer truth telling, we could encourage our patient
to take time to make good preparation for the ending of life
without regret.
Department of
Nephrologymedicine in HsinChu Hospital (Introduction):
The
main clinical services of our nephrology division include
(1) early detection of renal function impairment ,(2) reduce
the progression of renal injury ,and (3) providing qualified
hemodialysis center for ESRD patients. Three kinds of renal
replacement therapies including hemodialysis, peritoneal
dialysis and renal transplantation are all available in our
hospital. We also perform the procedures of kidney
ultrasound and kidney biopsy if indicated.
There
are forty-seven beds available in the hemodialysis center.
The main manifestation of our hemodialysis center is the
combined-care system of each sub-specialist. For examples,
the cardiologists could perform PTA procedure for
arteriovenous fistula (or graft) stenosis or thrombosis.
Professional
and kind attitudes are also the character of our qualified
nurses and physicians. We provide a comfortable, modern and
safety environment for each hemodialysis session.

Department
of allergy, immunology, and rheumatology is specialized in
the management of
1): inflammation of the muscle, tendon and joint.
2): systemic immunologic problem.
Including:
1 Systemic lupus erythematosus
2 Rheumatoid arthritis
3 Gouty arthritis and hyperuricemia
4 Ankylosing spondylitis
5 Other autoimmune disease
6 Allergic problem, including urticaria, drug allergy
