Biography Superintendent Ching-Nien Chang, born in 1952, graduated from the College of Medicine , National Taiwan University with the degree of Bachelor of Medicine, and College of Public Health , China Medical University with the master degree of Medical Administration, as well as the College of Management , National Chiao Tung University with the degree of Executive Master of Business Administration.
Superintendent Chang served as resident and chief resident in the Department of Surgery in the National Taiwan University Hospital for postgraduate training. He specialized in all disciplines of general surgery and subspecialized in surgery of the alimentary and hepatobiliary tracts as well as surgery of the breasts. He served in both Departments of Surgery and Emergency Services where he eventually assumed the position of directorship. Besides outstanding clinical services, Superintendent Chang sought administration education from the aforementioned institutions and applied them to the administrative posts he held interim. With his complete credentials and experiences in both clinical services and hospital administration, he was promoted to the vice provost of Hsinchu General Hospital and the provosts of both Chutong and Miaoli General Hospitals . With proven track records, Superintendent Chang assumed the current position and leads the team at Hsinchu General Hospital for continuing pursuit of excellence in providing healthcare for the greater Hsinchu area.
After returning from Miaoli to Hsinchu General Hospital where he had profound and enduring devotion, Superintendent Chang expects his healthcare team “to enduring pursuit of excellence with selfless devotion”, aiming to build an environment of “open”, “responsible”, “constructive”, and “ harmonious” family. He wishes to establish working codes and dogma for team to follow, thereby reinvent Hsinchu General Hospital to not only an “ ever-lasting” first-choice hospital for all local Hsinchu folks but also a live-time hospital for all members of the healthcare team.
Furthermore, He aims to collaborate closely with all local healthcare providers and strengthen ties with member hospitals enlisted in the Coalition of the Northern Taiwan of the Department of Health of the Executive Yuan of Taiwan to achieve mutual growth and better service to all citizens in Hsinchu region. For future prospects, Superintendent Chang plans to continue existing close collaboration with local academic institutions, for example, National Chin-Hua University and National Chiao Tung University , as well as National Taiwan University in Taipei , to provide teaching and research opportunities. He also emphasizes continuing construction of the referral network of family physicians to Hsinchu General Hospital .
Progress of Hsin Chu General Hospital , either in h ardware or software , is self-evident to all visitors and folks here in Hsinchu. Superintendent Chang, praising the healthcare team of Hsinchu General Hospital at the same time, expects all members to “satisfy needs of all patrons” and minimize miscommunications as well as maximize services. Meanwhile, he will continue to lead the healthcare team of Hsinchu General Hospital to meet all expectations of our patrons by providing the best healthcare.
