Introduction to Cardiovascular Surgery

The Cardiovascular Surgery
provides open heart operation and consultation. The
diseases needing open heart operations include: coronary
arterial disease, cardiac valve disease, and congenital
heart disease. This surgical division also provides the
other operations for those vascular lesions, such as:
thoracic/abdominal aortic aneurysm and peripheral
vascular diseases (repair of vascular injury, bypass
grafting/endarterectomy for peripheral arterial
occlusive diseases, removal of vascular thromboembolus,
vascular aneurysm repair, stripping and endovascular
surgery of varicose vein, thrombolytic therapy and
implantation of inferior vena cava filter for deep vein
thrombosis, establishment of arterio-venous
fistula/graft or vascular access catheter for
hemodialysis)
