In the past, surgical intervention from spontaneous pneumothorax was standard thoracotomy. The patient always hesitated to receive thoracotomy due to the large incision , postoperative pain and cosmetic damage, Now we use 3 to 4 small incisions of 0.5 to 2 cm. in length to do the same procedures with assistance of a video-camera and an autosuture machine. Prompt recovery helps the patient and physician to make a quick decision for disease management.
