Triage Station→ Registry→ Physician work-up→ER stay for admission or discharge→ Cashier

Traige Station

  • Please present your National Health Insurance (NHI) Card. (or please present your citizenship card if NHI Card is not available.)

  • Please fill-out basic information if this is your first visit. (Patients who have citizenship card only need to fill-out telephone and mobile number).

  • The triage nurse will also assist in the interrogation of your conditions.

Registration

NHI patients please present NHI Card at registration desk; Please present citizenship card if there is no photo on NHI Card; Patients who forget to bring NHI Card need to pay registration fee first, and the cost will be returned if you bring the NHI Card and the original receipt to the front desk within 10 days (excluding weekend and no more than the fifth day of next month). Please bring your newly-made ER charts to the clinic (as specified below) and hand-in to nurse after you complete registration, and then wait at waiting area.

  • Adult medicine: 2nd consulting room

  • Pediatric: 3rd consulting room

  • Surgical: 1st consulting room

Hospital visit

  • Please keep quiet when waiting.

  • Only 1-2 people can be aside the bed to create a comfortable hospital environment for patient

  • Nurses and technicians will arrange your necessary check-ups and treatment as soon as possible after physician’s examination

  • You may rest assured as your physician will arrange and contact other department for you if you need transferal.

  • ATM is beside the lobby of Hsin-Building; public telephones are beside emergency pharmacy or in the lobby beside the stair.

  • Please inquire staff of nursing station if you need barf bag, bed pan, and urinal.

  • Wheelchairs and wheeled stretchers are available at front lobby of emergency room on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Nurses will ask you to go to the emergency cashier if the doctor advised hospitalization.

  • During hospitalization, patients cannot discharge themselves against medical advice.  If patients cannot continue to stay in hospital, please fill “Discharge against Medical Advice (AMA)” form and follow the discharge procedures directed by the health care staff.   

  • Bed is limited in the hospital, so we are not able to take all patients needed admission. Please inform health care staff, if you wish to transfer to other hospital then we will assist you in contacting the hospital.

Discharge

  • NHI Registration Cost: Registration Fee NT $300; Co-payment NT $300, Total is NT $600.

  • When discharge, health care staff will provide patient instructions coach.  Please contact (03) 5326151 ext. 4207, if you have any questions after discharge, and please return to hospital as soon as possible, if you feel uncomfortable. 

  • Department of emergency refund procedure:

  • The cost will be returned if you bring the NHI Card and the original receipt to the emergency cashier counter within 10 days (open 24hours).

  • Patients, who forget to bring the catastrophic illness card, please bring the NHI Card and the original receipt to the outpatient clinic to get the approval from physicians (whether the illness meets the criteria of using catastrophic illness card).  If it meets the standard, patients can visit the emergency cashier counter for refund (open 24 hours).

  • Patients, who forget to indicate they have occupational disease during hospital visit, please bring the occupational disease form (form in duplicate), NHI Card, and original receipt to the emergency cashier counter for refund (open 24 hours).

  • Patients applying for medical certificate please inform physicians during hospital visit, and verify personal information during payment.  To pick up medical certificate, the patient himself/herself or direct relative needs to bring citizenship certificate and original receipt to the emergency office the next working day from 2pm to 4pm. Please visit registration counter during working hours for patients who are discharged but return to apply for medical certificate. (Person, who is not patient himself/herself or patient’s direct relative, need letter of authorization in order to apply for medical certificate).

Remain in hospital for observation

  • For patients’ safety, please do not charge your mobile phone in the clinic or hallway, and please do not talk on mobile phone while physician is examining you.

  • Please bring your valuable personal belongings with you such as mobile phone, purse, and laptops.

  • We provide one quilt to every patient; if additional quilt is needed, please ask nurses.

  • Wheelchairs are available in the front lobby, and potty chairs are available in the rubbish room on a first-come, first-served basis, and please return it to its original place after usage, so other patients can use it.

  • ER does not provide food; please go to food court in the lobby of Hsin-Building. After you finish, please classify rubbish before sending it to a dustbin to maintain a clean environment around patient’s bed.

  • If you need care-giver, please consult with the department of nursing for contact information of care facility.

  • Please try to keep the noise level to a minimum, reduce the number of people coming onto wards, decrease visiting hours, and leave before 9:30pm in order to protect patients’ safety and reduce the risk of a hospital-acquired infection.

Admission to hospital

  • Please bring the bill, NHI Card, your citizenship card or driver’s license to the emergency cashier counter for payment and hospital admission procedures, if you are patient’s direct relative. 

  • To verify information, please have the patient fill out the consent form and present patient’s citizenship card.

  • Person who is unable to show citizenship card, please bring related identification documents to the nursing station in the ward.

  • Person who is unable to show NHI Card or whose NHI Card is expired, please pay the fee at own expense.  If you are NHI Card holder after discharge, please visit the admission office in the lobby to change personal information.
