About Hsinchu Branch

Introduction

Hospital history

Given their proximity in the greater Hsinchu region, plans for merging the three NTUH Branch Hospitals were laid down in 2017, with the goal of sharing resources toward establishing a medical center to meet the needs of Hsinchu's populace. The three Branches were formally restructured into the National Taiwan University Hsin-Chu Branch on January 1, 2021.

The new agency is comprised of two operational institutions: the NTU Hsin-Chu Hospital and the NTU Biomedical Park Hospital, the latter including its Zhubei and Chu-tung Campuses; both institutions have their respective supervisors overseeing administrative affairs. Drawing from its foundations, and with the full support of the National Taiwan University Hospital Main Branch, the NTUH Hsin-Chu Branch strives to provide localized and trusted health care for the population of Hsinchu.

Each component of the restructured NTUH Hsin-Chu Branch has its mission when it comes to task-role division. The NTU Hsin-Chu Hospital focuses on providing advanced emergency and critical care; the NTU Biomedical Park Hospital Zhubei Campus provides resources for translational medicine research, medical device innovation and drug development, while maintaining the capacity for emergent care, oncologic care, high quality health examination and international specialty medicine services; and the Chu-Tung Campus provides community and remote region healthcare services, including chronic, geriatric and psychiatric care. Through operational integration, resource sharing and task-role division, the synergy of the three hospitals greatly increase the scope and depth of the Branch's healthcare services.
